Submitting a FOIA Request
Before submitting a FOIA request, individuals should ensure that the information they seek is not already in the public domain or located on the OIG website. If the information is not in the public domain, you may submit your FOIA request easily using the Online FOIA Request Form below. Privacy Act Notice
This notice is provided in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, 5 U.S.C. § 552a(e)(3)
(“Privacy Act”). The collection of the information within this FOIA Request form
is authorized by the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. § 552 (“FOIA”), and U.S.
Department of the Interior (DOI) regulations at 43 C.F.R. part 2 (see section 2.1).
The information you provide will be principally used to respond to your request,
manage the FOIA program, and collect data for reporting purposes. Completion of
this form is voluntary, but failure to provide the information requested may preclude
or delay the processing of your request.
The Privacy Act provides 'routine uses' under which the requested information
may be disclosed outside of the U.S. Department of the Interior without consent.
